Please join a New England Forestry Foundation forester for a tour of the Martin Memrorial Forest on Tuesday, November 26th from 2 – 4 PM. This is an opportunity for comuntity residents and others who are interested to see how the New England Froestry Foundations cares for its forests through both preservation and mangement. Parciptants will see how the removal of some trees promotes growth and improves overall forest health. These timber havrests are part of New England Forestry Foundation’s sustainability plans, providing wildlife habitat, clean water, clean air and recraetional opportunities for community residents. If you would like to see a map of the Martin Memorial Forest please visit our website www.newenglandforestry.org, and go to “Find a forest near you.” Directions: Meet at the trailhead on Bush Hill Road in Ashburham. Pubic access is available from the Ashburnham side of the forest off Bush Hill road. From the intersection of Rts 12 and 140, go east on RT 12 for 1.8 miles, turn left onto Depot Rd. Follow it 1.1 miles to a 5 way intersection. Continue straight across the intersection onto Dunn Rd. Follow it 1.8 miles to Tuckrman Rd. Turn right on Tuckerman and go 850 feet to the first left hand road. This is Bush Hill Road. Approximately 1.4 miles north on Bush Hill road from its intersection with Tuckerman Road, there is a foot path. This path follows an old road west through land that is open to the public, reaching the east line of the Martin Memorial Forest in .6 miles .”

Join the New England Forestry Foundation and Peter and Goioia Bravmann for a forest tour. Named in honor of a favorite pet, the Lucky Dog Forest is open to the public for motorized recreation, and managed for sustainable timber prodction, wildlife habitat, and watershead protection. There is new access trail the end of Elm Street.
Meet at the trailhead on Elm Street. Go to Shelbourne Falls, MA and start at the west end of the bridge where Rt. 12 crosses the Deerfield River. Turn left at the end of the bridge and follow Assfield Street up the hill and across the railroad tracks. Take the first right after the tracks onto Franklin Street and follow it 1/4 mile to Elm Street. Take the first right after the tracks onto Fnarklin Street and follow it 1/4 mile to Elm Street.Turn left on Elm and follow its twistting course up the hill .9 miles to the NEFF trailhead on the left side.
