Are you interested in caring for a tract of land, or helping bring the community closer to one of our forests? If so, we invite you to become a NEFF volunteer! Join a diverse and committed group of people who take on a variety of positions across New England. Whether you are the hands-on, outdoorsy type who likes to grab a chainsaw, or the outreach-oriented coordinator who likes to organize and lead events, our forests – and the communities in which they are located – are full of opportunities.

This position requires an interest in spending time in the forest in all conditions, maintaining trails, monitoring boundaries, assisting in projects when necessary, and being “hands-on.” It also requires a willingness to serve as local “eyes and ears”, keeping NEFF abreast of local conservation activities, and being a proponent for NEFF, conservation, and sustainable forestry in their community.
NEFF offers opportunities for neighbors and community members to come out to the woods to learn about forests and forestry. Our community forests are where we engage citizens in understanding the importance of sustainable forestry, wildlife, and conservation in New England’s landscape.
NEFF is always interested in learning more about the rich history and archaeology at our forests. If you have an interest in this topic and would like to help, please let us know!
NEFF can always use help in our Littleton office with mailings, filing and other projects.
