Through a grant from the Ford Foundation NEFF launched the North Quabbin
Woods Project to work with local landowners, woodworkers, outdoor guides and
recreation businesses to enhance the economy of the North Quabbin region of
Massachusetts through sustainable forest practices." "View the web-site to

In 2000, NEFF received a five-year grant from the Ford Foundation to explore community forestry in the North Quabbin region of north-central Massachusetts. The grant is one of twelve community forestry grants that Ford awarded as part of its National Community Forestry Demonstration Program.
