Maine Woodlot Assistance: Bringing Forestry to the Landowners of Maine.
- An outstanding site for forest landowners, developed as a thesis project at the University of Maine. The site provides information about options, opportunities, and assistance for woodland management in Maine. It also has an excellent glossary of forestry terms.

National Association of State Foresters.

National Community Forestry Center - Northern Forest Region.
- The NCFCNFR serves the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Central & Northeastern New York and helps rural people conduct and use research to inform decision making about forest resources.

National Timber Tax Website
- A useful site for timberland owners, as well as accountants, attorneys, consulting foresters and other professionals who work with timberland owners by answering specific questions regarding the tax treatment of timber.
New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands
- Official New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands website: division carries out forestry activities on state-owned lands, manages State Forest Nursery, administers Natural Heritage Program, enforces forestry laws, protects forests from fire and forest pests, performs statewide forest resource planning and forestry outreach education in forest stewardship, urban and community forestry and forest industry economic development, responsible for state land acquisition and disposal, leases and permits for state lands, and maintenance of state land records and boundaries.

Forest Stewardship Council
- (FSC). The international body which develops standards for green certification and certifies other certifying organizations, including SmartWood and SCS.
